Jeremy Downward - Chairman
In 2001, Mr. Downward established a Family Office, of which he is also the
CIO, managing the investments of a number of Trusts and Foundations of a
prominent European Family office. The Family Office invests in liquid
investments across the asset class spectrum in most developed and emerging
markets. Previously Mr. Downward was a founding partner and board member
of Greece's first private sector investment bank, Alpha Finance from 1989 to
2001 where his responsibilities centered on large cap capital markets and
corporate finance advisory transactions. He was involved in the establishment
and development of Alpha Bank and Alpha Finance in Romania and Alpha Finance
in the USA. Alpha Finance listed on the Athens Stock Exchange in April 1995.
Prior to Alpha Finance he was a Vice President at Continental Illinois Bank
and worked as a relationship manager to multinational corporations based in
the north-eastern United States. His banking career commenced in 1984 working
for Continental Illinois Bank in Piraeus and then Athens Greece, prior to which he
was an officer in the British army for 6 years, seeing service in Germany, Central
America and the U.K. He has a BA Honours degree in International History
and Politics from Leeds University, U.K. graduating in 1976.
Anastasios Leventis
Anastasios serves on the board of and provides strategic, management
and financial support to a diverse group of financial, consumer
and industrial businesses in Europe and Africa. He has worked as
an analyst at American Express Bank Ltd. and Credit Suisse Group.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration from New York University's
Stern School of Business.
Tim Lovell
Tim has over 25 years of experience in the investment industry. He is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mumbai. During the 1980's he was Finance Director of W.I.Carr and then Swiss Bank Corporation's Asian investment banking operations. In early 1990 he jointly founded Marlin Partners, an Asian stockbroking and asset management business., In 2002 he joined the board of AIM listed investment company , Acquisitor Holdings Bermuda and became CEO of AIM listed Baltimore Capital one of its investee companies. Tim joined Liability Solutions in December 2006.
Richard Malpas
Richard has 30 years experience in investment banking. He joined the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York after receiving an MBA from the Wharton School. During his 18 years with Chase, Richard held numerous positions in New York and Latin America in corporate finance and debt capital markets. Richard joined ING in 1994 to head Corporate Finance for Latin America. Shortly after his 1995 move to London he became Global Head of the Debt Products Group for ING Barings. Richard joined Liability Solutions in June 2001.
Richard Watkins
With 30 years of institutional investment experience, Richard holds a B.Sc. in civil engineering and an MSI from the Securities Institute. He has worked in London, New York, Australia and Venezuela. In 2000 he co-founded Liability Solutions, a hedge fund marketing and fund of hedge funds advisory business, operating out of offices in London and New York. In 1992, he was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the LatInvest Group, a London and New York based Latin American investment bank, which subsequently became BBV LatInvest. Prior to establishing LatInvest, he was on the Schroders Group Executive Committee, responsible for Capital Markets and Securities.
Peter Watts
Peter has more than 40 years experience in the finance industry. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and has worked in Jersey since 1972. During the 1980's he was a Director of Hill Samuel, Merchant Bank, in Jersey and Managing Director of the Bank's Trust, Investment and Fund Management Divisions. In 1988 he joined Continental Financial Services Limited a privately owned Trust and Company administration business. He sits on the boards of a number of Investment Funds.
Jonathan Heaume
Jonathan has more than 35 years experience in the finance industry. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has worked in Guernsey since 1973. In 1980 Jon founded the accountancy practice Rawlinson & Hunter in Guernsey and developed it from four staff into the practice it is today with 36 staff.
